Healthy Environmental Hamilton
With a population of over half a million people, Hamilton is the 10th most populous city in Canada. Resting at the centre of Ontario’s “Golden Horseshoe,” it sits on prime real estate approximately 75kms from both downtown Toronto and the U.S. border.
While famous for its steel industry, Hamilton also celebrates a rich military history and is the final docking port for the HMCS Haida – a destroyer commissioned in 1943 that now serves as a floating museum and national historic site. Hamilton is also home to the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, which displays dozens of fully restored historic military aircrafts that are bound to satisfy any history lover.
If you’re looking for something a little more adventurous in the area, Hamilton has its very own African Lion Safari. With a focus on conservation, the African Lion Safari lets over 1000 animals and 100 different species ranging from giraffes, cheetahs, rhinos and, of course, lions roam free in a 740 acre park for you to tour from the safety of a vehicle.
