Healthy Environmental Burlington
Situated in-between Hamilton and the Greater Toronto Area, Burlington’s 175,000 residents enjoy a prime location that has plenty to offer.
Just a short drive away from two major urban centres and resting on the shores of Lake Ontario, Burlington is a quiet community amidst the hustle and bustle of Southern Ontario.
While it may be quiet, there are still plenty of sites to see in Burlington, and the Royal Botanical Gardens should be near the top of anyone’s list. The largest of its kind in Canada, the gardens cover a staggering 2,450 acres of beautiful scenery and offer educational programs while regularly hosting events.
Every June Burlington hosts Canada’s largest free music festival, the Sound of Music Festival. Yearly festivities include a celebratory parade, street performers, and concerts which all help fundraise various city projects. The Sound of Music Festival offers something for the whole family.
Burlington also has one of the more peculiar tourist attractions in its Museum of Oddities. Along with an extensive collection that includes shrunken heads, strange medical devices and ancient artifacts, the museum also offers psychic readings and hosts magic shows that are bound to peak your curiosity.
With such an eclectic mix of attractions and a prime location, it’s no wonder that Burlington was ranked as the fifth best city to live in Canada in 2014 by MoneySense.
